Dear Louie,

I found your website and video on Youtube almost by accident, but I am really glad that I did. They bring me good memories or my early years and a plastic Remington.

I got my first rifle at the age of 7. My dad taught me to shoot with that rifle, and yes, it was a Nylon 66, manufacturer code RJ. I spent a lot of time plinking and my allowance was never enough to buy all the ammo I needed. My old man came from the military and thought of me as a recruit: One Shot One Hit, but the fascinating firing speed of my rifle was my secret.

I have had that rifle with me since then and it was my perennial companion to countless camping trips to the mountains and beaches. We went wading rivers, endured rain and mud, withstood heat and anything else you can think the rain forests of Costa Rica can offer. It never failed. But most of all, it was light to carry.

I always carried two guns with me the Nylon 66 and a Star F Target model pistol also in 22 LR -and both with plastic stocks-, but the pistol was almost never used (maybe because I am a terrible handgun shooter).

When I decided to sell or get rid of my other guns (three .45 pistols, one .41 Magnum revolver, One 12 Ga., One 9 mm semi, One 30-06 lever action, an old 7mm Mauser, etc.) I kept the one that proved to be the one I really love: the Nylon 66.

Best,

Raul
PS I had to put the rifle on my desk to write this comment. I will be burning some powder this weekend.
