My Nylon 66 has a stamp of DFU.. I found it is a sept 1959, but what does the “U” stand for?

I’ve got a Nylon 66 Apache Black that has a code of JX8, barrel code of 86, and a serial number of 215xxxx. When was mine built? The “J” doesn’t match up with your codes. Thanks!

Ok i need a bit of help, my 66′s 3 letter code is AG6 so its march of 1960, this was supposed to be before serial numbers, but under the receiver cover (i think thats what its called, its what the scope mounts on) there is a 5 nuumber string, which is 40225, could someone please explain to me what these numbers are? they are in a rust colored ink or marker, in a fancier,older writing. you can email me at DustStorm@embarqmail.com or just post your response here on the comments, thanks

Hi. My barrel has an SX stamp. The serial number is 214XXXX. If I reverse the SX to XS, the guide says it was made in Dec 1969. Otherwise, there is no month code for “S”. THoughts?
